Sphere of Influence: Focus on regional aquatic conservation issues in Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho and Northern California – and on national policy issues that effect aquatic ecosystems in the western United States.

Areas of Interest: Protection and restoration of freshwater ecosystems on a watershed scale. Our mission is to protect and restore rivers, their watersheds and the native species that depend on them. We do this for the benefits that healthy watersheds provide to present and future generations – and for the intrinsic virtues of rivers themselves. Since 1987, PRC has promoted a watershed approach to aquatic conservation. Sound science is the centerpiece of what we do. We work to instill scientific and economic information into policy and political decisions. Our work is based on the strategy of protect the best, restore the rest. PRC promotes the protection of the best remaining freshwater ecosystems through our Legacy Rivers program.
