Sphere of Influence: Placer County

Areas of Interest: Our mission is to preserve the wild, scenic and cultural heritage within the watershed of the North Fork American River. NFARA believes that by working together private property owners, public agencies, land trusts and other interested parties can preserve this heritage. Our goal is to be a constructive voice in the management of the North Fork. We actively participate in public workshops and public agency management plans. Community programs are routinely sponsored in an effort to educate the public about the region. We have adopted two trails and frequently organize volunteer work parties. Current issues include off highway vehicle use on public lands, public access on a historic road near Blue Canyon, environmentally appropriate trails in Auburn State Recreation Area, and the proposed development on Donner Summit.
