Sphere of Influence: Tahoe National Forest

Areas of Interest: The Forest Issues Group is comprised of concerned individuals and local conservation groups who have been active forest defenders since the 1980s. FIG brings together dedicated volunteer citizen activists who care about the Tahoe National Forest. FIG works in cooperation with other local conservation groups and is affiliated with the Sierra Forest Legacy. FIG is working to: stop logging & road building in roadless areas; encourage the reduction of fuels and fire danger without logging big trees or damaging watersheds; eliminate logging in Spotted Owl habitat; and improve habitat for the most threatened mammals in the forest.
