SNAP Host Sites

*The SNAP program is currently seeking applications for Host Sites for the 2011 program!

SNAP Host Sites are the organizations that host SNAP Members for 11 months of service. These organizations include environmental nonprofit organizations, state and public agencies, land trusts, and federal agencies. At these host sites, SNAP Members carry out meaningful service projects. Host sites are expected to provide a site supervisor/mentor to guide and train the Members and to provide the service resources necessary for projects.

The Host Sites are located throughout the Sierra Nevada range of California. The 400-mile long Sierra Nevada range is the geographic backbone of California, encompassing over 33,000 square miles, comprising all or part of 22 counties, and 24 major watersheds. These watersheds provide 60% of California's developed water supply. In addition, the Sierra is also home to 50% of all plant species in California, and 400 species of birds, mammals, reptiles and amphibians.
