Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership -> How to Apply to be a SNAP Member
Do you want to gain professional environmental experience while serving in the beautiful Sierra? Becoming a Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership member enables you to do great things for the Sierra Nevada while you grow as an individual and attain tangible benefits. Put your idealism to work through AmeriCorps. Protect the Sierra environment and rural communities. You will learn teamwork, communications, conservation issues, responsibility and other essential skills that will help you for the rest of your life. And you'll gain the personal satisfaction of taking on a challenge and seeing results. The Sierra Nevada Americorps Partnership needs your courage, skills, and dedication. Are you up to the challenge? We are seeking enthusiastic conservation minded people to devote a year to serve for the protection of Sierra natural resources and sustainable communities. For this year of service, the Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership members will receive skills and technical training, mentorship with outstanding environmental leaders and receive an education award at the end of your service. Apply today to become one of the twenty-seven Sierra Nevada AmeriCorps Partnership members who will in 2011: In 2011, AmeriCorps service begins on January 3, 2011 and concludes on November 30, 2011. So apply today! Instructions are below. The 2011 Application Packet will be available in early September. To be eligible for the first round of interviews, please apply by October 8, 2010. How to Apply: Applicant Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of the U.S.
- Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED (higher education degrees are highly recommended.) Compensation and Benefits: - $1,300/month living allowance. - Standard AmeriCorps health insurance. - $5,350 educational award upon completion of a year of service. - Student loan forbearance (applicable for common student loan providers). - Child care benefits (applicable under specific conditions). - Over 200 hours of skills and technical training.
